We are driven by the desire to make a positive difference to patient healthcare at the Trust, and to do that we need the right people in our team. The following roles are currently vacant:
Art Curator - Imperial Health Charity
Job Title: Curator
Hours/contract type: 21 hours per week (3 days)/Permanent
Accountable to: Head of Arts
Salary: £35,000 (PA pro rata)
We are looking for an experienced curator to join our team, helping to enhance the healing environment and visitor experience across five large hospitals in west London. As the only working hospital to be a fully accredited museum, we take great pride in our collection of over 2,000 artworks, which includes bespoke commissions by Bridget Riley, David Mach, Julian Opie and Chris Orr. With a focus on modern and contemporary British art, we acquire, commission and install permanent and temporary exhibitions working with both established and emerging artists.
This is a very exciting time to join the arts team and an excellent opportunity to be involved in the work that directly enhances healing through art. You will be working with the Head of Arts and have responsibility for researching new ideas for installations, as well as using the existing collection to transform clinical spaces, engage patients, visitors and staff with art and care for and conserve the existing collection.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years experience in a curatorial role, with expert knowledge of modern and contemporary British art, experience in commissioning artists and a proven track record of researching and preparing interpretation material such as catalogue entries, wall texts and labels.
Our generous employee benefits package includes:
- 25 days annual leave (with an additional 3 days during our office Christmas closure), which increases by one day with each year of service
- a 10% employer’s pension contribution
- free gym membership
- free staff arts club membership, with access to a range of arts institutions across London
- a generous approach to learning and development to support you in your role.
