The Community Group in Residence project invites a local organisation to collaborate with an artist for six months to create an artwork displayed permanently at one of our hospital sites.
This project hopes to build stronger links between our hospitals and the communities they support, with an emphasis on groups who might face barriers to accessing healthcare services. Through the project, participants visit our hospital sites to engage with our art collection and form connections with hospital staff teams.
Our first project collaborated with Mosaic Community Trust, an organisation supporting communities in Church Street, Westminster. Artist Nisha Duggal supported the organisation's women’s group, exploring how creativity can support wellbeing. The group's collaborative artwork is now on permanent display at St Mary’s Hospital.
