Imperial Health Charity presents a new site-specific commission by artist Lucy Gough in Hammersmith Hospital's radiology unit.
Lucy worked with together with the radiology team in 2022 to create a series of wall based works. The compositions of anemones reference the natural world within a geometric pattern. The palette of soft tonal shades of green and blue, punctuated by the more powerful yellows and pinks, is similarly inspired by the colours of rural landscapes.
Lucy says, “The artwork takes inspiration from nature, specifically flora and fauna, to represent a positive image of wellbeing and to create a sense of escapism. The use of bold, geometric shapes has come to define my artistic practice and gives the work a contemporary and coherent style."

"I designed a colour palette that utilises earthy tones balanced with accent colours to combine harmoniously and create a calming and welcoming environment. My intention is for the artwork to be uplifting whilst bringing serenity to the viewers.”
Lucy currently lives and works in Cambridgeshire. She has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally as well as completing commissions for institutions including Soho House, University College Hospital London and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
