What is Poppy’s Fund?
Nothing can prepare a parent for the heart-breaking moment of losing a child. Sadly, that moment came for Carly and Roo Hodgson on 12 October 2017, when they were told their unborn daughter Poppy had died.
During this traumatic experience, Carly and Roo were supported by the inspirational maternity staff at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital. Specialist bereavement midwives helped them through their ordeal and demonstrated extraordinary care and compassion in the weeks and months that followed.
That is how Poppy’s Fund was born.
Working closely with Carly and Roo, we're raising vital funds towards a range of improvement projects that will enable the maternity teams at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea and St Mary's hospitals continue providing first-class care for many more families. Whether their baby is healthy and well, or if there are complications during the pregnancy or birth.
With your support, we'll help to fund specialist equipment on the wards, counselling services for bereaved or traumatised parents, improvements to the hospitals' facilities and surroundings, and further training and education to help staff support families in challenging circumstances.
