Funding is available to support patients and families in extreme financial difficulty as a result of being in hospital. Support is available for patients and families to cover the cost of transport, accommodation, funeral expenses, baby-care essentials, clothing and other critical need items. Grants of up to £1,500 are available per patient and applications are accepted year-round.
The charity oversees over 400 donor-gifted funds, each with a specific purpose to support a particular ward, department, area of research, service or group of patients. The charity team, trustees and designated special fund advisers identify ways to utilise these individual funds to make a real difference to a wide range of Trust departments and services.
The Research Fellowship programme is available to Trust staff to undertake a research project that will make an impact on patient care within the Trust, surrounding communities and the wider NHS. Funding is available to cover an individual’s salary for 12 months and related research expenses.
The Learning and Development Awards programme supports members of staff who would like to progress their professional development at the Trust. The programme offers funding for education and development opportunities that may not be available from other sources.
