Funding is available to support patients and families in extreme financial difficulty as a result of being in hospital. Support is available for patients and families to cover the cost of transport, accommodation, funeral expenses, baby-care essentials, clothing and other critical need items. Grants of up to £2,000 are available per patient and applications are accepted year-round.
The charity oversees over 400 donor-gifted funds, each with a specific purpose to support a particular ward, department, area of research, service or group of patients. The charity team, trustees and designated special fund advisors identify ways to utilise these individual funds to make a real difference to a wide range of Trust departments and services.
The Research Fellowship programme is available to Trust staff to undertake a research project that will make an impact on patient care within the Trust, surrounding communities and the wider NHS. Funding is available of up to £50,000. This is an annual grant round and the next intake of applications for 2019/20 will open in October 2018.
