‘Thank you’ event celebrates the contributions of our volunteers

We were delighted to host a very special event celebrating the enormous contribution that volunteers make to help our hospitals.Held at the Museum of Brands in Ladbroke Grove, we were joined by dozens of volunteers and NHS staff to say thank you for their tireless efforts.
Guests enjoyed food, drink and games, as well as taking time to explore the museum’s exhibition space. NHS staff then delivered their personal messages of thanks and presented special awards for volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make a real difference in our hospitals.
Chris Neal, Head of Volunteering at Imperial Health Charity, said: “Our volunteers make a tremendous impact at our hospitals and in the local community, and it was a real pleasure to be able to celebrate their achievements and thank many of them in person.
“This was the first in-person thank you event we’ve held since the pandemic. We know the last few years have been challenging for everyone at our hospitals and we’re incredibly proud of our volunteers for their dedication, compassion and positivity during this time.”
"The impact you have on patients, on their families, and also all of us who work as staff, is huge."
Dr Bob Klaber OBE, Consultant Paediatrician
Last year, over 500 volunteers gave a combined 17,000 hours of their time, helping to improve the hospital experience for more than 45,000 patients.
In a message to our volunteers, Dr Bob Klaber OBE, Consultant Paediatrician and Director Of Strategy, Research and Innovation at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “The impact you have on patients, on their families, and also all of us who work as staff, is huge. It helps us with our morale, it helps us keep energetic and positive about everything we do, and we really couldn’t do everything we do without you. Thank you.”
