Celebrating the NHS’ birthday at our biggest ever Walk for Wards!
More than 200 hospital staff, supporters and patients joined us in Regent’s Park to celebrate the NHS at our biggest ever Walk for Wards.

This year, our flagship sponsored walk coincided with the NHS’ birthday and we celebrated with a special summer ‘NHS Big Tea’ party in the park, complete with ice tea and selfie props.

Hayley Pannick, the charity’s Director of Development, said: “We’re incredibly humbled by the support we’ve seen. The community from all five Trust hospitals came together to make the day such an incredible success.

“Every penny they’ve raised will go a long way to helping our hospitals do more. We’re so grateful to everyone who took part and we can’t thank them enough.”

The walk on Saturday 6 July began with face painting and games at the starting point before everyone set off on the scenic walk through Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill and ending with a triumphant tea party celebration at the finish line.

Together they raised more than £7,700 for a range of wards across the Trust.

Among those taking part was the Trust’s Medical Director, Professor Julian Redhead, who said: “Brilliant day, brilliant organisation, brilliant people to walk with, I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone!”

The event was marshalled by our team of 30 Charity Champion volunteers who helped make sure the day ran smoothly and everyone found their way around the course.
