Fundraisers scrub up for biggest ever Walk for Wards
Hospital staff, patients and supporters slipped on hospital scrubs and took to Regent’s Park on the weekend for the charity’s flagship sponsored walk.

An incredible 190 people signed up for Walk for Wards, a family-friendly fundraiser supporting the Trust’s five hospitals – Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea, St Mary’s and the Western Eye.

The walk, which took fundraisers through the scenic park and up Primrose Hill for stunning views of the capital, raised over £6,000 for the charity with even more to come!

Mojisola Hassan, a Senior Sister in the Thistlethwayte ward, said: “I walked to support my ward at St Mary’s Hospital to help provide a place where the team can have their breaks and feel refreshed. This will improve quality of life and productivity for staff”.

The walk was marshalled by Charity Champions, a brand-new volunteering role offering a flexible way for the community to support the charity’s work without committing to regular shifts.

Molly Simpson, Events and Community Fundraising Manager at the charity said: “This was our biggest Walk for Wards yet and we couldn’t be prouder of our amazing supporters.

“We are so grateful to all our fundraisers and volunteers who made it such a success. Thanks to you, the money raised will enable us to help our hospitals do more for patients across the Trust.”
