Innovate at Imperial grants programme open for applications
22 April 2021
We’ve awarded £1.25m through the Innovate at Imperial programme so far, offering grants of up to £85,000 for NHS staff to explore pioneering ways to improve healthcare services including projects that address hospital processes, support staff wellbeing, enhance patient safety or improve patient care.
The project could be a novel drug, a cutting-edge device, a ground-breaking app, a new model of care, a set of behaviours or a way of delivering services - any change in approach that seeks to improve outcomes, efficiency or experience.
Since the programme launched in 2019 we’ve supported a range of exciting projects, including proposals to:
- purify the air during operations
- improve sleep for recuperating patients
- empower people with type 1 diabetes to self-manage their condition
Now we’re launching a third round of funding, giving hospital teams the chance to apply for grants to support their work.
Frankie Ferro, Head of Grants at Imperial Health Charity, said: “We’re delighted to bring back this valuable initiative for another year.
“Since we launched Innovate at Imperial we’ve been impressed by the radical, innovative proposals we’ve seen to transform care and deliver better outcomes for patients across the Trust. With charity support, staff can turn these bright ideas into a reality.”
If you’re a permanent member of staff at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, you can apply from now until applications close on Friday 11 June 2021. The programme is open to all staff but is best suited to applications from teams rather than individuals.
