New art exhibition says thank you to COVID-19 heroes
A special exhibition applauding the incredible work of the NHS staff and other key workers throughout the pandemic has gone on display at Charing Cross Hospital.

Thank You! features work by more than two dozen artists, including Damien Hirst, Yukai Du, Anthony Burrill, Morag Myerscough, and David James. Each piece is an expression of gratitude for those who have kept the country going, resulting in a joyous and hopeful exhibition.

Myerscough said of her collaboration with placemaking organisation In Good Company: “I wanted to show how much we appreciated all the work the frontline workers are doing and hopefully bring a bit of colour and words of love that might make a tiny difference on their way to and from work.”

Sheffield designer Emily Williams created a group of poignant prints celebrating frontline workers while former England footballer David James has donated a painting after being moved by the efforts of the NHS.

Delphine Allier, Art Curator at Imperial Health Charity, said: “These past few months have seen the country come together in support of all our key workers and we’re delighted that Thank You! has managed to capture that spirit.

“We’re immensely grateful for the generosity of all the artists involved and can’t wait for the staff at our hospitals to get a frontline view of this exhibition.”

Thank You! Is on display in the Charing Cross Hospital reception for the next three months, before it tours St Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals.
