St Mary’s Hospital community rally for appeal
St Mary’s Hospital’s neighbours at West End Quay have leant on the strength of their community and raised over £15,000 for our COVID-19 Relief Fund!

Spearheaded by a group of residents including Michael Jeans, whose history with the hospital spans over 40 years, the neighbours felt inspired to come together and support their local hospital during this challenging time.

Michael Jeans, whose twin children (known as ‘the Pair of Jeans’) were born at St Mary’s Hospital 33 years ago, said: “I thought that raising money for St Mary’s would help both the hospital and the strengthening of the fledgling community.”

With an original target set at £300, the residents of West End Quay set to work on using their individual connections to encourage donations. The community has raised a total donation of fifty times their original goal!

Hayley Pannick, Director of Development at Imperial Health Charity said: "We want to say a huge thank you to the West End Quay residents for banding together and raising such a large sum for our appeal! This generous donation will go to ensuring we can provide the best support possible for our NHS staff working on the front line,"

Through our Covid-19 Relief Fund we’ve been providing emergency support for our five hospitals at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The money we’ve raised is going directly to supporting staff wellbeing, providing financial aid to patients and their families and improving technology and infrastructure.
