Imperial Health Charity is pleased to present Nature Walk by Lara Harwood, a brand new commission for Hammersmith Hospital.
Following the refurbishment of the busy subway that connects the north and south sides of Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial Health Charity approached Lara Harwood to design and produce a new artwork for the space.
Working collaboratively with NHS staff, Lara developed a series of vinyl artworks inspired by nearby green spaces like Wormwood Scrubs and the Hammersmith wetlands, bringing the wildlife and greenery of the local area into the hospital. The varied flora and fauna featured in these artworks show how diverse the green spaces of London are, and emphasizes the benefits of spending time in nature.
Talking about the project, Lara says “It's a window out to another place, an escape route for people who are having a stressful or difficult time."
